Each week, students will read from living books on the term\u2019s topic, as well as perform simple demonstrations or experiments related to the week\u2019s reading..<div class=\"scbb-content-box scbb-rounded-corners\" style=\"background-color: #f8f6f0\">\n<p><b>Time requirement:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Two weekly lessons of approximately 30 minutes. One day, you will read about the topic, and the next lesson will involve an activity or experiment.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Teacher involvement:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> You will need to work with your child for these lessons<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Building Foundations of Scientific Understanding <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">by Bernard Nebel<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This course covers the concepts in his B &#8211; LIFE SCIENCE thread. The book offers further activities and guidance for educators in developing scientific inquiry regarding these concepts with students. If followed closely, the activities can take the place of the scheduled activity book and kits.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>Nature Anatomy<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> by Julia Rothman<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This lovely book offers hundreds of beautiful pieces of art illustrating countless concepts, collections, and observations throughout the natural world. We have scheduled it to accompany the science and geography lessons throughout Level 1.
